DIMETRA Express system component:
 

Express System MTS2/4 based, include:
Express Server – a single server hosting all the call processing, configuration, fault management, IP telephony and Short Data Service, …
Primary Site – a base station that hosts the Express Server inside the Express Subsystem Cabinet (MTS2 or MTS4 cabinet). For MTS1 configuration the Express Server is located outside of the MTS1
Secondary Site – in case of geographical redundancy a base station that hosts the Express Server or a location with a Standalone Express Server

Express System MTS1 based, include:
Express Server - a single server hosting the call processing, configuration, fault management, IP telephony and Short Data Service, …
Primary RF Site – Opposite to the MTS2/4 based solution the MTS1 base station does NOT host the Express Server. The Express Server is installed separately.
Secondary RF Site – in case of geographical redundancy similarly to the primary RF Site a base station that hosts the Express Server

Express Standalone Server:
The Standalone Express server is mainly used to allow server redundancy configurations
which are hosted in or next to an existing MTS1 based Express system on the same location
or in Data Centres an another location. It contains the Express Server and an external power
supply. In case of geographical redundancy two Standalone Express Servers are required, a
combination of Standalone Express Server as Primary Site and an RF Site with Express
Server is not certified.

Base Transceiver Station (BTS):
BTSs can be supported on a DIMETRA Express system and are connected using single or dual Ethernet links to the DIMETRA Express primary MTS or Standalone Express Server. Base transceiver station BTS include: MTS1, MTS2, MTS4.
